Which way does that XLR cable go?

Nick's way of remembering the signal flow of XLR cables in most cases is to remember that the signal follows the direction of the pins. That being said, in most cases, signal flows into the female end, and flows out of the male end. Remember this, and you'll never run a cable in the wrong direction again.
